From Swan River’s Rest on the drive up to Glacier and Kalispell, one passes Swan Lake. A small town and a large lake about 10 miles in length, gorgeous views, scenic stops, picturesque landscapes, you won’t be disappointed. Come in the fall and see the shores aflame in the autumn hues!

Seeley Lake MT is a vibrant, charming town near the Seeley Lake. They are located between the Bob Marshall and Mission mountain Wildernesses. A drive through the town proves it is a one of a kind, with the forest coming right down to the main road in places, and the lake-front one road back from the highway!

From Condon, MT to Seeley Lake, MT along Hwy. 83 is a drive never to be forgotten. The majestic Swan Mountain Range rises sharply skyward. The road twists and turns through the foothills and then opens out and reveals the jagged and rough Mission Mountain Range to the west. With several pull-offs along lakes (including Summit Lake) and beautiful scenic views of both mountain ranges, be sure to keep your eye open for the unexpected. (In Montana, that means dear and wild-life crossing!)

Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Great Lakes in the U.S. Bigfork, Polson, and other towns lie on its shores. For a short detour on the way to Kalispell or Whitefish, drive through the main center of Bigfork and see the awesome views of the lake.
