Explore the Flathead National Forest from Holland Lake in the South to the Montana-Canadian border in the North. Encompassing much of the country in the near vicinity of Glacier National Park, it is a trip like none other. Float the Flathead River, kayak the Lakes from Seeley to Swan, and enjoy the hundreds of hiking trails that Flathead National Forest has to offer!

Lolo National Forest extends through the Swan and Seeley Valleys, through Missoula and west to the Idaho-Montana border. Fish the Clark Fork River or stay in a USFS cabin or fire-tower. Or just get out in your Off-Road Vehicle and fling up some mud! Lolo National Forest is sure to be a favorite!

The great rugged peaks to the West of Swan River’s Rest are the Mission Mountains. The Mission Mountain Wilderness spans a length from South to North of about 30 miles. It has over 40 miles of trails and is covered in thick forests of larch, western red ceder, fir, and pine. The Mission Mountain Wilderness is a must see when visiting the Swan River’s Rest.
